As the founding director of Bright, Peter's 15 years of food, beverage and pharmaceutical experience have defined the company's direction in these fields. He has both depth and breadth of experience in many sections of the industry gained through 7 years as an internal engineer and 8 years in consulting.\n

Peter completed a Chemical Engineering degree with honours at Monash University, as well as a Science degree majoring in Physics and Mathematics. He has also completed a post-graduate degree in Brewing through the Institute of Brewing and Distilling in London. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), and a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).\n

He has a strong drive and passion for improving the way businesses operate through a combination of sound theory and practical experience. His personal approach, and ability to develop relationships helps deliver projects that are beneficial to his clients as well as suit the character they are striving to achieve.\n

Peter has been an Olympic torchbearer and a runner-up for the Young Australian of the Year award. He has guided many other engineers toward achieving chartered status and continues to develop his teams through both technical and practical experience. Multiple projects he has worked on have been nominated for internal company awards. He has actively engaged with Engineers Australia, delivering technical presentations and plant tours locally, and is a member of the Chemical College Board for his 3rd consecutive 2-year term.

As a Principal Engineer at Bright, Michael’s 30+ years experience in the food and beverage industries allow him to provide expert advice on beverages manufacturing and packaging, as well as project direction and governance expertise. Michael has been involved in major expansions and process optimisation projects from beverage making to packaging across brewing, Cider, RTD’s, Wine and Spirits. In his time at CUB, Michael headed the company’s Energy and Water efficiency programs for over a 10 year period which saw significant improvements across the company.

Michael has completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering at RMIT. He has also completed a Master of Engineering at RMIT in collaboration with CSIRO on Cheese Whey manufacture. Michael has completed regular and wide-ranging internal and external training throughout his career.

Michael has managed teams both directly and indirectly, across different countries and states. He understands successful projects are about creating the right team, and bringing them along for the journey. Michael’s collaborative approach to work, desire and practical knowledge lead to successful outcomes.

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Bright, Fernando brings over 17 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Biologics sector. Having worked for main-stream leading Biotechnology multinational companies, both in Australia and in Europe, Fernando adds extensive experience and understanding of customer expectations from any Engineering services operating in this highly regulated environment.

Fernando also has a broad experience in mechanical services, waters generation and distributions, as well as food and beverage production design.

Fernando completed an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering at the university of Limerick in Ireland, and has completed many internal and external short courses relevant to services, cGMP and process safety including HAZOP.

With a safety mindset, a passion for engineering systems, and a pragmatic approach to problem solving, Fernando brings a proven track record in building and leading highly efficient engineering teams.

Fernando has been responsible for the delivery of several multimillion-dollar high-profile projects in the Pharma and cosmetics sectors in line with all regulatory requirements of domestic and international regulatory authorities (TGA, OGTR, FDA, IMB).

As a Senior Process Engineer at Bright, Sam brings over 12 years of international experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing industries. Having worked for multinational companies within Australia and the United Kingdom, Sam adds extensive experience with implementing and driving change within highly regulated GMP environments.

Sam completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering as well as holding a double degree in Chemical Engineering (honours) and Science majoring in Microbiology. He is a Chartered member (CEng) of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).

Sam has a passion for process safety, quality, continuous improvement, and growth and has completed various international training programs in Process Safety including HAZOP Leadership, GMP and Lean-Sigma and has applied these skills across multiple successful projects through his career.

Sam has a keen interest in coaching and developing others and getting the best out of people. He enjoys bringing the technical and people side of projects together to ensure a great outcome for all stakeholders.

As a Senior Project Engineer at Bright Engineering Consultants, Rob brings over ten years of pharmaceutical and FMCG experience to the team. He has degrees in Chemical Engineering (with honours) and Science (majoring in Pharmacology) from the University of Melbourne and has completed training in Lean Manufacturing, Leadership, and WHS/OHS.

Rob's project experience ranges from small continuous improvement CAPEX to multi-million dollar factory builds. He has a strong working knowledge in FMCG, GMP and HACCP, as well as GxP requirements within a pharmaceutical environment. His time spent in reliability and maintenance has gained him invaluable hands-on experience in asset management, FMEA, and RCA investigations.

Safety is forefront in Rob's Project Management style, closely followed by quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. He enjoys a challenge and will use a highly collaborative approach to ensure project deliverables are met to a high standard.

Davin brings over 25 years of experience as an Engineer working as an Original Equipment Manufacturer, designing, testing and commissioning bulk handling, packaging and manual lifting solutions. Davin has worked in many different industries, including food and beverage, pharma, power, mining & cement. He has spent significant time on site, in a hands-on capacity, commissioning original equipment and brownfield interfaces.

Davin has a Bachelor's degree with Honours in Engineering (Mechanical and Manufacturing) from the University of Melbourne. With Davin’s career in electrical industrial automation, instrumentation, machine safety, programming, hazardous area classifications and electrical compliance, he is a Registered Professional Engineer (Electrical RPEng) in Queensland (RPEQ) and Victoria (VER). Throughout his career, he has regularly been involved with conferences and training courses in the electrical, safety or hazardous area / dust explosions areas of competency.

Davin's expertise spans PLC & HMI programming, electrical and process design, PLC/MCC panel design, safety risk assessments, and compliance with Australian Standards, with a particular focus on hazardous areas and industrial electrical instrumentation and control. He is recognised for his attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and unwavering commitment to excellence, and his determination to meet the customer’s needs has helped him build many lasting relationships with suppliers and customers.

Davin has had 12+ years experience as team leader for the machine automation side of a successful Australian owned OEM and was one of the pioneers in the company for developing the control system solutions and the engineering systems to implement many successful projects throughout Australia and abroad. As Senior Automation and Validation Engineer at Bright, Himanshu brings 30+ years of extensive experience in Australia in process control and automation, and instrumentation in the pharmaceutical industry. He has additional overseas industry experience in materials handling, and chemical processing. He has provided training in automation to clients and mentored many colleagues.

Himanshu has completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation and Controls, B.Sc. in Physics and Grad. Diploma in Information Systems. He has been instrumental in setting standards and templates for control systems whilst working on different client projects.

He has worked on multiple projects simultaneously, managed teams for automation and validation projects, and delivered projects to the client’s satisfaction. He thrives on designing optimal solutions suiting project requirements.

As an Engineer at Bright, Sophia has completed projects for multiple clients from concept through to completion. Sophia completed a Chemical Engineering degree with honours at the University of Adelaide. Throughout her two years at Bright as a graduate engineer, she was\n mentored and trained by Senior Engineers at Bright and has been worked closely with multiple clients, being the first point of contact for many clients.\n

Sophia has also completed HAZOP participant training, basic PLC programming training, and internal AutoCAD training; and holds White Card, Work at Height\n ticket and EWP (scissor lift) licence.

Sophia is bilingual in English and Mandarin which adds value to technical and communication support for clients who are dealing with, or would like to\n explore the opportunities to work with Chinese suppliers.

Thomas recently joined Bright as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer after completing his industry placement at Bright. He has become proficient in the use of drafting software, including the Inventor and AutoCAD packages for the generation of 2D and 3D models. With internal support and guidance, Tom supports projects for a wide variety of clients including well-known brands on projects ranging from equipment design to full site layouts.

He completed his Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical) with a Bachelor of Finance at the University of Adelaide. Thomas was offered a position as a Graduate engineer and is now the 4th engineer to be working through the Bright’s graduate program. The program offers training and experience opportunities in a range of varying design and management processes.

Thomas has a strong passion for problem solving and reverse engineering systems to help develop solutions for clients. He enjoys working alongside both his peers and clients and enjoys getting to know people on a personal level.

Derek has ~30 years of engineering and project management experience in many sectors including FMCG manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical and consulting. Having worked for various multinational companies with Australia, Derek has experience in delivering projects within live manufacturing environments. He has a strong working knowledge in FMCG, GMP as well as GxP requirements within pharmaceutical environments.

Derek has completed a Mechanical Engineering degree with honours at Swinburne University of Technology, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Queensland.

He is well-rounded project manager able to take a concept to completion and operation, accounting for project and operational requirements. He’s hands-on, with the ability to understand equipment and processes, and to communicate effectively with operators and management. He has proficiently handled project implementation and efficiently manages projects from inception to execution.
